What can be achieved in asthmatic patients with adequate treatment of asthma?
- Asthma, without using a rescue inhaler, should not prevent the patient from what he/she wants to do.
- The patient should not stay away from school/work because of asthma.
- The patient should try to prevent exacerbations; if he/she prevents exacerbations this may reduce the risk of asthma-related life-threatening situations.
- The patient should have the ability to do normal activities, which means being able what he/she wishes to do.
- All this should be able without using a rescue inhaler often.
